Brooke Mitman Named Easton Area Community Center Executive Director

Easton, PA ~ Dec. 22, 2015 ~ Brooke Mitman has been named Executive Director of the Easton Area Community Center, (EACC) effective Dec. 22, 2015.

As Executive Director, Mitman will be responsible for day-to-day operations and staff management of the community center, which has provided educational programming, sports and recreation, and other resources for Easton area youth and adults for more than 60 years.  She will provide leadership for the EACC’s activities and mission and work with the Board of Directors to achieve the Center’s financial and strategic plans.

Mitman will be the primary contact for external resources including nonprofit and government agencies, community groups and churches, and local colleges and universities.  She will work with funders and the news media to create effective partnerships with the Easton-area community and the greater Lehigh Valley.  Along with the Board, she will strengthen STEM-related programming, art, music and theater, and opportunities for service-learning projects with the higher-education community.

Mitman succeeds Anita Mitchell, who was EACC executive director for eleven years.

“We are fortunate to have Brooke join our team at the Easton Area Community Center,” said Angel East Kachline, President of the Easton Area Community Center Board of Directors.  “Her passion for children and families, creativity and education, along with her experience with fundraising and organizational management, will help the EACC achieve its goals.  We look forward to her contributing in ways that will benefit the Center, the Easton area, and especially the youth and adults the organization serves.”

Mitman was most recently director of development for the Third Street Alliance for Women and Children in Easton. Prior to that, she was vice president of Business Development for HorizonLine Technologies LLC in Jacksonville, FL.

Mitman is a native Eastonian, a graduate of Easton Area High School and Penn State University.  She and her family reside in the Lehigh Valley.
